Customising the Editor
5 ways you might customize your Sandbox editor setup.
1- Whilst having many open windows in editor, it can seem crammed so one thing you can do is hold n drag one window into another which will merge the two into one window allowing you to access for example the DB or the FG in the same window. This option is much easier to navigate to things, and is more organised.
2- You can create more space by right clicking on the toolbar and de-selecting the toolbar that is not needed allowing you with more space on the window.
3- You are able to create your own toolbar by clicking.. Tools > Customise keyboard OR right clicking on the toolbar and select Customise. This opens a window allowing you to create a new toolbar, leave comments for the toolbars etc.
4- It allows you to manage Preferences of levels, autosaving etc, accessed through Tools > Preferences
5- Short keys can also be modifeid being accessed through Tools > Customise keyboard.
ViewPorts
3 different ways of moving around your level.
1- Short cut keys are used in order to help navigate through the map. The W,S,A,D keys allow you to move up,down and also side to side.
2- Entering Co-ordinates of the position you want allows to you quickly move to that position on the map.. This is the "Go To Position".
3- When flying through the game, You can use the mouse as a navigator to your direction. Pressing W will dirrect you forward as it would when playing the game.
User Interface Panels
5 shortcuts or buttons, and what each of their functions are.
1- Holding down ALT and Middle mouse button at the same time allows you to rotate completely around the view port from an invisible point.
2- Allowing yourself to fly through terrain etc, the Q button is located lower screen. If you choose to fly through the map not allowing yourself to fly through terrain make sure this Q button is selected.
3- Right clicking whilst holding a weapon will shortcut you to zooming in on a target.
4- Holding down Shift key whilse moving will allow you to navigate faster through the map as a sort of speed trigger.
5- Saving camera tag points in shortcuts.. Saving the point by Pressing Control + F1,F2 etc, If you want to recover that exacpt poisition Press Shift F1,F2 etc and it will relocate you to that position.
